Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Tiling and Stonework

At Mitchell Maguire, we are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor Tiling and Stonework to join our team. As a key member of our construction management consultancy, you will be responsible for managing a range of floor and wall tiling projects across various sectors, including residential, leisure, commercial, retail, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including electronic taking off quantities
  • Measuring and carrying out take-offs from drawings/specifications, applying rates, calculating, and completing pricing schedules
  • Keeping up to date with site progress through Operations Manager, Site/Project Managers, recording progress made, and transferring information onto monthly payment applications
  • Pricing variations and changes in line with subcontractor parameters
  • Dealing with subcontract applications and negotiating subcontractor price
  • Updating any changes to the agreed contract scope
  • Keeping track of application figures and ensuring relevant departments are aware of potential budget or financial constraints
  • Building strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors
Requirements:
  • Must have proven Quantity Surveying experience within the UK construction market sector
  • Ideally will have experience within the flooring, tiling, or fitout market sector
  • Must have excellent communication skills across all levels, both written and verbal
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong numerical skills and negotiation skills
  • High levels of organisation and attention to detail
  • Presentable, humble, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
