About the Role


As a Senior Financial Accountant for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, you will play a crucial role in maintaining governance and control over the fixed asset base of the organisation.


Your responsibilities will include managing and maintaining the fixed asset records, ensuring accurate registers are up-to-date, and providing expert advice on capital investment decisions, impairment reviews, and analysis of capital spend.


You will work closely with the business to ensure compliance with IFRS and FReM standards, producing regular monthly reports to Boards and contributing to the DVSA's capital strategy.


This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent accounting standards and technical skills, who can apply their expertise to drive financial performance and contribute to the growth and development of the agency.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage and maintain the fixed asset records, including the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date registers.
  • Provide expert advice on capital investment decisions, impairment reviews, and analysis of capital spend.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and FReM standards, producing regular monthly reports to Boards.
  • Contribute to the DVSA's capital strategy, working closely with the business to identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, communicating complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A strong background in accounting and finance, with a focus on fixed assets and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
