Job Title: Engineering Shift Leader

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Leader to join our team at Greencore. As a key member of our manufacturing unit, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to maintain and improve the performance of all plant and equipment, ensuring maximum machine availability targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing engineering shift team to achieve production targets and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Plan and prioritize shift workload to maximize machinery uptime and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and food safety requirements.
  • Lead the engineering team to create a high-performing culture, including setting team/individual expectations, leading by example, and encouraging development and achievement.
  • Document shift activities and performance, escalate relevant events, and contribute to daily meetings.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification gained through a time-served apprenticeship or study, ideally at NVQ L3.
  • Knowledge of permit systems, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • PLC awareness and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Understanding of engineering systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Food or wider FMCG manufacturing experience is desirable.
