About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at a SEMH school setting in Poole.

The successful candidate will provide specialised support to students with complex needs related to Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour, ensuring their individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) are effectively implemented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging curriculum that addresses the specific challenges associated with Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour across various subjects.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment to promote social, emotional, and mental well-being, with a focus on addressing anxiety and behaviour challenges.
  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse needs, including those with ADHD, Autism, and other complex challenges.
Requirements
  • A deep understanding of the diverse needs associated with Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour.
  • An ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of individual students.
  • A patient and understanding approach when facing challenging behaviour.
  • A proactive and open mindset, working in a multidisciplinary team.
