Contract Management Leader

We are seeking an experienced Contract Management Leader to join our team in Aberdeen. As a key member of our Supply Chain Management team, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Contract Analysts and guiding them in delivering contract management services that drive proactive commercial solutions for our North Sea Operations.

Your focus will be on optimizing value for the company through effective budget management, governance, and assurance controls. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement, actively contributing to refining processes and procedures. Collaborating closely with Contract Owners, you will ensure that our external supply relationships yield optimal value for the business, while fostering strong internal partnerships across various functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the team to craft industry-leading contracting strategies for comprehensive End-to-End Contract Management.
  2. Manage a team of Contracts Analysts to optimize contract portfolio performance and address other business needs.
  3. Ensure budgeted outputs are delivered and maximize value for the company while minimizing waste and risk.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in outcome-based and transformational contracting methodologies to drive superior performance.
  5. Direct the team to maintain the highest professional and integrity standards, adhering to contracting procedures and business controls.
  6. Engage proactively with internal stakeholders to drive contract development, execution, and management.
  7. Provide guidance and support across the organization on contracts planning, strategy, performance management, and commercial/business risk.
  8. Represent the company externally with partner engagements and industry initiatives.
  9. Contribute to continuous improvement in the contracting process and share best practices across teams.
  10. Participate in Contracts Review Board for key strategies and contract awards.
  11. Support the Supply Chain Management team in various contracting activities, including tender processes, contract negotiations, and post-award administration.
  12. Commit to personal and technical development.
  13. Ensure all activities are conducted with the highest professional and integrity standards, following company procedures and controls.
  14. Undertake additional duties, tasks, and ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements:

  1. A degree or equivalent qualification.
  2. Proven experience as a Team Lead or in people management, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.
  3. Expertise in Contracts Management, with a focus on team development, personnel objective setting and tracking, performance management, and contract portfolio management.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to HSE policy compliance.
  5. Familiarity with key suppliers and trends in the Supply Market to inform supply chain management decisions.
  6. Collaboration skills, including experience working with internal teams, external groups, suppliers, and contractors.
  7. Relevant contracting experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in an Operator environment.
  8. Sound knowledge of oil and gas industry supply chain market dynamics and contracting principles, including familiarity with LOGIC based contracts.
  9. Understanding of UK/EU procurement legislation and compliance requirements.
  10. Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills for contractual cost analysis.
  11. Proficiency in contractual risk allocation.
  12. Effective facilitation and negotiation skills.
  13. Extensive experience in post-award contract management.
  14. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  15. Ability to perform well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  16. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  17. Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  18. Proficiency in information systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  19. Experience with budgeting, reporting techniques, and familiarity with project management practices.
