Job Summary

Nursery People is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Care and Education: Work in partnership with parents and carers to cater to the individual needs of children, observing, planning, and evaluating development activities, and maintaining regular contact and communication with parents.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with the Room Leader to ensure that all nursery initiatives are fully embedded into the room, following and implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at all times.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Respond to parent queries or requests in a polite and professional manner, seeking help or signposting parents to the correct person within the nursery as appropriate.
  • Induction and Training: Support with new staff induction into the room, ensuring consistency of care and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Equipment and Facilities Management: Take good care and responsibility for equipment and furniture in the room, ensuring that any issues are flagged appropriately.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience of working in a day nursery as a Nursery Nurse.
  • Qualifications: Relevant Early Years qualification – Level 3.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS, good understanding of health and safety requirements, safeguarding, and paediatric first aid.
  • Certifications: Valid DBS check.
