About the Role:

Celeros Flow Technology is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in a key role that involves working on pumps for Original Equipment and Aftermarket orders. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for all aspects of the pump testing cycle, including installation, commissioning, testing, and dismantling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of pumps for testing, including setting out and securing temporary foundations, pipework installation, and rotor alignment.
  • Participating in operational tests by controlling various aspects of the test parameters, such as temperatures and pressures within acceptable limits.
  • Highlighting any non-conformances identified through the appropriate channels and in a timely manner, working with others to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Breaking down temporary test arrangements and storing equipment away as per departmental procedures.
  • Responsible for your own quality of work, self-inspection, and completion of paperwork and applicable checklists.
  • Performing maintenance activities on test department equipment as required to ensure maximum reliability and availability of equipment.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities to assist the company in its efforts to improve safety, drive down costs, and increase productivity.
  • Working in other assembly areas when required.
  • Working with managers and other test department personnel to implement the company's policies and goals.
  • Ensuring that health, safety, and environmental guidelines are followed.
  • Providing on-going support and training to peers and apprentices as required.
  • Being available to undertake further training (internal & external) if required.

Requirements:

  • Time served Mechanical Fitter with at least 3 years relevant experience preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • A challenging attitude and safety mindset to manage risks within the test environment.
  • Experience with rotating equipment and laser alignment would be advantageous.
  • An understanding and experience of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a team to execute tasks in a timely manner to achieve goals under tight time-frames.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbally.
  • Must be able to undertake National Security Vetting and obtain security clearance up to SC level.
