The City of Bristol College is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to oversee the development and implementation of an enhanced asbestos management plan. This critical role involves ensuring compliance with asbestos regulations, managing contractor relationships, and promoting safety awareness among employees.

About the Position
  • Develop and execute an asbestos management strategy to minimize risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver compliance training and support to the direct labour force, focusing on safe work practices and regulatory adherence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure successful project outcomes.

This position demands expertise in asbestos management, including certification in asbestos management (e.g., BOHS P402-P404) and experience in contributing to digital asbestos registers.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, develop method statements, and audit contractor work to guarantee regulatory compliance.
  • Manage asbestos-related documentation, including surveys, removals, and remediations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the college estate, leveraging your experience in large, complex environments.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers and stakeholders to provide clear guidance on asbestos regulations and safe work practices.

The estimated salary range for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
