Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Edinburgh team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. As a key member of our team, you will work on a variety of projects, developing your skills and expertise in quantity surveying, and contributing to the success of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to deliver projects successfully.
- Administer contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies, ensuring accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
- Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.
- Manage contract changes effectively, ensuring projects remain within governance and adopt best practices.
- Drive improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
- Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
- Negotiate and agree final accounts.
- Lead people and commissions as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience or a sound understanding of contract management, cost management, change management, valuation, risk management, procurement, estimating, pricing, reporting, and collaborative approach.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent.
