Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity

RSK Group is seeking an ambitious and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in the UK. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that offers a chance to work with a knowledgeable and talented team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Phase 1 desk studies to deliver geotechnical projects.
  • Liaise with clients, engineering supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Set up and organise ground investigation works, including drilling, trial pitting, and in-situ testing.
  • Supervise intrusive investigation activities, such as soil and rock logging, and laboratory scheduling.
  • Process field and laboratory results to inform project decisions.
  • Write reports to communicate project findings and recommendations.

Person Specification:

  • BSc degree level qualified in geology, civil engineering, or a related environmental subject.
  • Previous UK ground investigation site experience is essential.
  • MSc in a geotechnical or engineering geology discipline is preferable but not essential.
  • Ability to log samples to BS 5930+A2 technical standards.
  • Familiarity with geological maps and published geological data.
  • Basic understanding of water, ground, and soil gas monitoring techniques.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and be flexible to work nationally or internationally.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Working towards chartership with the Geological Society or equivalent.
  • Excellent report writing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Up to £35,000 depending on experience.
