The Role

We are seeking a Junior Java Developer to join our Agile scrum team working on an industry-leading, cloud-based utilities platform. As a Junior Java Developer, you will have the opportunity to develop your software engineering skills in a supportive and energizing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software as part of a self-organizing, multi-disciplined scrum team
  • Follow and contribute to established engineering practices as part of a tier 1 delivery organization
  • Ensure a focus on quality through code reviews, development testing, and maintaining our automated test suite
  • Actively participate in Agile sprint ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, refinement, planning, and retrospectives
  • Continually grow within your role through personal training and development
  • Communicate effectively with technical as well as non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • 1+ years commercial Java software development experience or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Agile
  • Proficiency in relevant technologies and concepts including Object Oriented Design in Java or .Net
  • Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn about, the Utilities industry, AWS, and SQL Databases
