About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Site-Based Quantity Surveying Expert to join our team at Elsdon Group. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial knowledge, NEC contracts, and industry standards. They will also possess excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team.

This is a full-time site-based position available for 6 months with the possibility to be extended. The estimated salary for this role is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all costs relating to the project, from initial calculations to final figures.
  • Keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and profitability.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Deal effectively with post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  • Carry out construction take-off, prepare construction cost plans, track costs and labor efficiency throughout the project.
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts and manage through to final account.
  • Prepare timely and accurate assessments/payment certs/payless notices for sub-contractors each month.
  • Prepare and submit valuations and final accounts.
