Junior Charge Nurse/Junior Charge ODP
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Junior Charge ODP/Nurse to join our busy Upper GI and colorectal Surgery Theatres at Castle Hill Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Theatre Operations
- To provide high-quality patient care and support as a competent anaesthetic practitioner and/or scrub practitioner, adhering to all checks and procedures as laid down in National/ Theatre Policy.
- To take charge of the operating theatre department in the absence of a Band 7.
- To be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff by acting as a mentor with the support of senior colleagues.
- To maintain excellent clinical standards of clinical practice and staff development as part of the theatre team.
Teamwork and Communication
- To work closely with the Charge ODP and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of clinical practice and staff development.
- To demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and an excellent level of communication and sense of humour.
Requirements
Training and Experience
- To be a Registered ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse, or a Registered Nurse willing and keen to do the Anaesthetic Nurse training.
- To have a flexible approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified as appropriate to knowledge and training.
Personal Qualities
- To be able to demonstrate procedures, supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff, and maintain a safe working environment.
