About the School:

This historical school is based on the outskirts of Sevenoaks and provides education and therapy for children in Year 5-13 who have a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges. Many of the pupils who attend the school have a designated Education Heath Care Plan (EHCP), which details their specific needs in terms of care and support they will have access to.

Children have diagnoses including Anxiety, Autism, Depression and Trauma and the school provides a unique and specialist environment that meets the needs and challenges that the students face. The school offers a highly specialised curriculum, which aims to help all students reach their full potential.

Working as a Teaching Assistant:

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be required to work alongside the Teacher and other professionals to support the children throughout the day. This will involve providing in-class support on a group and 1:1 basis, aiding the Teacher by modifying any teaching material to make it accessible to children in the classroom.

You will also be required to use your positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to the variety of situations that may occur throughout the day. Clear communication and consistency will be vital to this role.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- Strong behaviour management skills
- Empathetic and able to build relationships quickly
- Clear communicator
- Hold an Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one

Working Hours:

This is a part-time position working Monday-Friday, 9.30am-3.30pm during term-time only. The salary is £85-£100 per day.
