Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to a team of social workers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Work Allocation: Manage and prioritize the team's workload efficiently, optimizing resource use and maintaining high standards of practice.
- Supervision and Development: Offer regular supervision, conduct performance appraisals, and promote continuous professional development for team members.
- Policy and Practice Development: Contribute to the development of practice and policy initiatives within Children's Services, staying updated with field developments and collaborating to improve service delivery.
- Partnership Working: Facilitate effective partnerships with parents, carers, other professionals, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Financial Management: Oversee financial commitments related to children's needs, ensuring adherence to Best Value principles and identifying efficiencies.
- Quality Assurance: Engage in quality assurance processes, including audits, to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate social work professional with strong management and communication abilities. Essential criteria include:
- A relevant Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a similar setting.
- Previous management experience in social work is desirable.
- Demonstrated capability in managing individual caseloads and optimizing resource use.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality services with the welfare of children central to decision-making.
