About the Role

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief People Officer to lead the HR Business Partnering service and drive forward the Trust's People Strategy.

As a key member of the People Directorate, you will be responsible for managing and leading the HR Business Partnering service, Employee Transactional HR services, and other workforce systems.

You will work closely with the Chief People Officer, Head of Organisation Development, Culture and Engagement, and Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to transform and improve services within the People Directorate.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, organisational development, and workforce transformation, with experience of leading significant people programmes and managing complex employee relations cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the HR Business Partnering service and Employee Transactional HR services
  • Manage and develop the HR team to deliver high-quality services
  • Work closely with the Chief People Officer and other senior leaders to drive forward the Trust's People Strategy
  • Develop and deliver strategic plans to improve services within the People Directorate
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations cases

Requirements

  • Master's qualification in HR Management, Organisational Development, or a related field
  • Relevant professional qualification in HR Management
  • MCIPD qualified
  • Experience of leading significant people programmes and managing complex employee relations cases
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work across organisational boundaries
