Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team at Burberry Limited. As a key member of our Global Tax Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the management of tax compliance globally across a number of Burberry entities.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide analysis and preparation of tax reporting, provisions, tax returns, and tax compliance, including management of third-party service providers. You will report to the Senior Manager, Direct Tax and Technology and may assist other members of the Global Tax Team.
Responsibilities- Prepare tax provisions, tax returns, and overall tax compliance processes, as well as year-end/interim disclosures.
- Monitor the Group's outsourced global corporation tax return compliance cycle.
- Review tax instalments for overseas group entities, engaging with the outsourcing partner and wider Finance teams to ensure tax payments are made on time.
- Support the Tax Manager with the preparation of the UK tax returns prepared in-house, encompassing RDEC and capital allowances projects.
- Provide technical assistance to the wider Finance teams in reviewing tax disclosures within local statutory accounts and supporting local audit activities.
- Partner with local Commercial Finance teams to provide assistance to preparation of year-end and interim tax provisions, and review of all Group tax submissions.
- Prepare CBCR calculations and correspond with international teams regarding local CBCR filings.
- Support with analysis, modelling, and preparation for Pillar 2 compliance.
- Prepare total tax contribution disclosures and complete TTC questionnaires.
- Partner with transfer pricing colleagues to ensure all intercompany transactions are priced accordingly in statutory accounts and tax returns.
- Identify new opportunities to standardise and/or prepare tax returns in a more effective and efficient manner, including use of tax technology tools where possible.
- Assist with explanations for external auditors relating to tax provisions.
- Provide support to the wider tax team on group projects as required.
- Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or tax advisor (CTA).
- Experience in accountancy and tax compliance, ideally from industry with an international/cross-border remit.
- Hands-on exposure with IFRS, Statutory Accounts, and Local GAAP adjustments.
- Some knowledge of transfer pricing concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and wider Office suite.
- Working knowledge of SAP useful.
- Excellent communication skills & fluent in English (both verbal & written).
- Highly organised, comfortable in working to deadlines within a commercial environment.
- Capable of analysing relevant information, identifying key issues, and communicating findings clearly.
