About the Role

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join a Primary School in North Somerset and support a child with speech and language needs in a Year 2 class.

As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualized support to the child, adapting lessons to meet their needs and promoting their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop and implement individualized support plans for the child
  • Provide one-to-one support to the child in the classroom, adapting lessons to meet their learning needs
  • Communicate effectively with the class teacher, parents, and other professionals to ensure the child receives comprehensive support
  • Be flexible and adaptable in your approach to meet the changing needs of the child
  • Record and report on the child's progress and development
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children with SEN, particularly speech and language needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher and other professionals
  • Flexibility and adaptability in your approach
  • Knowledge of SEN policies and procedures
