Kitchen Steward Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Kitchen Steward to join our team at Marriott International.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.
  • Ensure all equipment is in compliance with food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Receive and store deliveries, and rotate stock.
  • Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas.
  • Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, and send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing.
  • Empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster area.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation, health, and safety standards and regulations.
  • Lay out and ensure adequate clean supplies of equipment, china, glass, and silver.
  • Inspect food holding and transport equipment and maintain in working order.
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Assist with an effective dish room equipment repair and maintenance program.
  • Enforce proper use and cleaning of all dish room machinery.
  • Enforce proper cleaning routines for service ware, equipment, floors, etc.
  • Enforce proper breakdown procedures for banquets, restaurants, room service, and associate cafeteria.
  • Maintain uniforms properly.
  • Attend training for COSHH (Care of Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
