Astute People is partnering with a leading international organization in the nuclear energy sector to recruit a QHSE Advisor for its Cranfield site.
About the RoleThe QHSE Advisor will play a crucial role in enhancing quality, health, safety, and environmental performance by collaborating with the Operations team. The successful candidate will analyze current processes, implement improvements in reporting and procedures, and work with QHSE and IMS teams to update the Management System.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Operations team to enhance quality, health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Analyze current processes and implement improvements in reporting and procedures.
- Work with QHSE and IMS teams to update the Management System.
- Monitor and report on QHSE KPIs, both internally and externally.
- Organize and conduct operational inspections, audits, and verification checks, acting on findings.
- Provide onsite consultancy for developing Risk Assessments and ensure proper understanding among staff.
- Assist in creating quality plans for projects and oversee their implementation.
- Coach and mentor site supervisors in HSE practices.
- Develop and deliver internal training programs to raise awareness.
- Conduct quality and HSE meetings.
- Network within the organization to share processes and implement best practices.
- Contribute to developing a behavioural-based model aligned with company values and QHSE standards.
- IOSH / NEBOSH safety certificate.
- Experience in Accident / Incident Investigation /Problem solving.
- Experience in highly regulated industries. Experience of Nuclear industry is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the key attributes of nuclear safety culture.
- Demonstrable field engagement.
- Good knowledge of performance management techniques and/or route cause analysis technics (FMEA, A-Z, 5 Whys LEAN, Six Sigma).
- Excellent team working skills.
- The ability to work with minimum supervision and intervention.
- Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to take responsibility for problems within their own remit and to deliver solutions.
- Results-focused with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
The QHSE Advisor role comes with a salary of £40,000 per annum, 25 days annual leave per year raising to 30 (1 day for every 2 years' service), 8% Employer pension contribution and many more fantastic benefits.
