Job Summary

Social Work First is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Interim Head of Service - Mental Health & Localities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all aspects of adult social care services in a complex and demanding legal and social environment.
  • Deliver a breadth of support to older and disabled people, people with mental ill health, dementia, and their carers.
  • Provide strategic leadership on all aspects of Adult Social Care, allocating human and financial resources to priority activities and leading on the integration of services.
  • Lead on Mental Health Act Services including the supply of warranted Approved Mental Health Professionals, S117, Mental Health services performance, and Council lead on relationships with mental health providers.
  • Provide technical and specialist leadership and advice on all aspects of adult mental health policy and practice.
  • Provide confident leadership and clear management across wide-ranging services to ensure effective strategic development and operational delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading and managing adult social care services.
  • Strong understanding of mental health policy and practice.
  • Ability to provide strategic leadership and direction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex and demanding environment.
