About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our team at Fox's Burton's Companies. As a Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all manufactured products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee all quality activities to ensure products are consistently manufactured to agreed specifications and parameters.
- Lead and manage the site quality team, including handling disciplinary investigations and performance management.
- Maintain a rigorous auditing program that meets the standards set by all audit bodies and ensures ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with the Technical Manager and site team to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the manufacturing site.
- Contribute to achieving site technical KPIs, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
- Agree on achievable product specifications and regularly review them to ensure customer satisfaction, including during new product development (NPD) transitions.
- Develop and implement robust corrective action plans to address and resolve any consumer or customer dissatisfaction.
- Serve as the secondary point of contact with governmental, non-governmental, and retailer bodies to ensure effective communication and compliance.
- Lead investigations into internal incidents that result in out-of-specification products and manage the recall system and its coordination.
- Monitor and collaborate with relevant departments to maintain site hygiene standards and prevent quality or food safety issues.
- Review and approve all customer product samples prior to dispatch.
- Maintain and update the site Quality Manual as required.
- Coordinate site improvement meetings focused on projects and ongoing quality standards enhancement.
- Act as the customer-facing representative during audits or specific meetings, addressing quality concerns directly.
Requirements
- Experience in a Quality Assurance function within the food industry.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Certifications: Level 3 HACCP, Advanced Food Safety.
- In-depth knowledge of top 5 retailer audit systems.
- Familiarity and experience with BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards.
- Proficient in IT systems, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to use and produce pivot tables for data analysis.
