Your Role and Responsibilities

While in this position, your duties may include:

  • Managing and developing the manufacturing engineering team to meet business production needs, focusing on increasing capacity and reducing costs, and reporting unsafe practices through the correct channels.

  • Providing front-line support for errors with machines and programs, escalating them to the maintenance team as required.
  • Delivering engineering support on activities concerning production and maintenance, including minor machine maintenance.
  • Replenishing tool vending machines as needed to support the production team and schedules, and providing support on the purchasing of materials to meet requirements.

What you will need to Apply:

The business is expecting applicants to possess a HNC/D in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, alongside at least 5 years of experience in a relevant role. Apprentice-trained professionals will also be considered, as long as they possess considerable experience. Experience relating to the role that will be coveted includes CNC programming languages (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol), experience with 5-Axis millings/mill-turn and turning CNC machines, and CAD/CAM (including 2D & 3D CAD systems). Additional familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office is also needed. Candidates are expected to possess a good understanding of machine shop processes and be able to work well managing multiple projects under pressure. Excellent communication skills are a must.

Additionally, this role will see you enter a driven work environment, where you will have a great impact on the processes and production to meet business needs. As well as this, you will be in a position to truly develop your career and spearhead your own progression, with access to exceptional training material and internal opportunities to move forward with your professional journey, in a manner that suits you.
