MV Commercial is a leading supplier of new and used truck sales in the UK, with a network of strategically positioned depots across the country. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Workshop Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring the efficient and effective management of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the workshop, including the cleanliness and organization of the area.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
- Supervise workshop staff, providing guidance and support where needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify any issues and organize repairs, as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated, including ATF lane equipment.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Manage the DVSA ATF lane, ensuring smooth operation.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels by controlling holiday requests and workshop loading.
- Encourage good workshop practices to ensure a safe, tidy, and hazard-free working environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of workshop management is an advantage for this position.
- Must be a 'time served' technician or possess City & Guilds 1, 2, & 3 Certificates or equivalent qualifications and experience, with a technical background/experience in trailer repairs.
- Experience of managing a team is a distinct advantage.
- Self-motivated with a high level of enthusiasm and good communication skills.
- Good organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Computer literate.
- Admin skills.
- Full and valid driving license.
