We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Workshop Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring the efficient and effective management of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the workshop, including the cleanliness and organization of the area.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  • Supervise workshop staff, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify any issues and organize repairs, as necessary.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated, including ATF lane equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Manage the DVSA ATF lane, ensuring smooth operation.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels by controlling holiday requests and workshop loading.
  • Encourage good workshop practices to ensure a safe, tidy, and hazard-free working environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of workshop management is an advantage for this position.
  • Must be a 'time served' technician or possess City & Guilds 1, 2, & 3 Certificates or equivalent qualifications and experience, with a technical background/experience in trailer repairs.
  • Experience of managing a team is a distinct advantage.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of enthusiasm and good communication skills.
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Computer literate.
  • Admin skills.
  • Full and valid driving license.
