The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, researching, evaluating, and selecting suppliers that meet our organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure raw materials, equipment supplies, and services at the most economical cost and lowest inventory levels.
  • Drive improvements in annual total costs for specific commodities and products.
  • Manage supplier relationships and maintain an appropriate meeting schedule.
  • Liaise with the Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing Supervisor to resolve supply chain problems.
  • Work closely with R&D on NPI projects to meet product release deadlines.
  • Negotiate long-term supply contracts.
  • Identify areas for cost savings and implement improvements.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a strategic purchasing role, preferably working with electro mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings/technical specifications.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience of contract negotiation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

Travel: The role requires occasional travel within the UK and internationally.
