Warehouse Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at KION Group. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the shift team, ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse facilities, and maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the shift team in day-to-day activities, ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse.
- Lead from the front and manage customer expectations, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain, repair, and support equipment within the agreed scope of contract on the customer's site.
- Ensure delivery to both Dematic and the customer's expectations, with the aim of achieving KPI targets at all times.
- Undertake AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC, and PC faults and subsequent repairs.
- Prioritize system faults and ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse.
- Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Ensure the quality of output at all times, maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
- Accurately record all work undertaken, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Participate in continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse operations.
- Maintain product flow at all times, ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse.
- Ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels, maintaining a well-stocked inventory of spare parts.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, maintaining customer relations and building strong relationships with customers.
- Adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Interact fully with the customer in day-to-day activities, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and professionalism.
- Embrace and ensure delivery of key staff processes, including team and individual attendance, staff discipline, staff development, and staff dialogue.
- Monitor and steer third-party support contracts to ensure delivery of key service KPIs.
- Interact fully with other engineering team leaders to ensure consistency across shifts and best practice is shared.
- Be a point of escalation and control during breakdown situations, ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse.
- ONC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- IOSH Working Safely (desirable).
- Experience in previously managing a team (desirable).
- Foundation qualifications in people management (desirable).
- Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship.
- A working understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic technical manuals and drawings.
- Basic understanding of control systems and problem-solving techniques.
- Basic understanding of PLC equipment.
- Working at height experience and willingness.
- Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems.
- Good level of PC literacy.
- Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry.
