About the Role:
The Area Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of shift engineers at the company's flagship site in Corby. This will involve guiding and mentoring the team, taking full responsibility for budgeting and facilitating capital investment projects within the business unit. The primary focus will be to deliver an engineering input to ensure operating excellence within the business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of the engineering team, enabling them to provide an effective breakdown service as members of an integrated manufacturing team.
- Ensure that all operational maintenance, engineering, and project-related health and safety requirements are clearly communicated and diligently applied.
- Take responsibility for the maintenance budget to ensure control of expenditure within agreed limits.
- Ensure adherence to current engineering standards (PUWER, LOLA, IEE Standards).
Requirements:
- Experience managing an engineering team within a manufacturing environment (preferably food or FMCG).
- Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a team.
- Apprentice-trained or recognized engineering qualification.
- Experience of managing maintenance budgets and working within a management role previously.
