About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Equipment Engineer to join our team at Velocity Recruitment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all buildings, plant, and production equipment are properly maintained.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with maintenance tasks. You will be part of an on-call rota and will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be working closely with managers and supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure routine maintenance is carried out on all buildings, plant, and production equipment.
- Participate in an on-call rota.
- Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical equipment.
- Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems and LOTO.
- Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are adhered to for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices.
- Support Manager and Supervisor to ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
- Ensure logbooks, shift hand-over, and client's reporting is updated regularly and accurately.
- Identify and report potential hazards.
Requirements:
- Educated to NVQ/C&Gs level or equivalent.
- Experience in multi-skilled disciplines (mechanical, fabric, water hygiene, painting, and carpentry) is desirable.
- Comprehensive electrical experience, undertaking reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
- Excellent fault-finding skills.
- Able to work to own initiative and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Formal H&S training, Legionella Awareness, IPAF, Test and Inspect qualifications are advantageous.
Benefits:
- A competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- A comprehensive benefits package including 25 days annual leave, pension scheme, and life insurance.
