Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at The Story of Emily. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall financial strategy and operations of our business.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and report any variances.
- Prepare and publish all monthly financial statements.
- Create reports (annual and monthly) that identify results, trends, and forecasts.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded, filed, and reported properly.
- Make sure reporting meets compliant standards with statutory law and financial regulations.
- Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls.
- Streamline and improve all operations and accounting systems.
- Coordinate the management of cash flow, debt, and debt collection.
- Oversee the audit process and liaise with external personnel as required.
- Support the business with financial strategy and decision-making processes.
- Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA.
- Analytical, with problem-solving skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong personal and communication skills, alongside confident leadership and management skills.
- Strong business acumen, and the ability to influence people at all levels.
