Main Objectives:

Design and develop high voltage power conversion products and associated equipment that meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with customers to agree on unit specifications.
  • Design and develop high voltage power conversion products and associated equipment to agreed specifications.
  • Investigate and research new design techniques to improve stability, reduce noise, and enhance performance.
  • Accurately document designs to enable full manufacturing packages to be created or amended.
  • Confirm that developed designs meet requirements through testing, simulation, and calculation.
  • Meet agreed time-scales for tasks or projects.
  • Ensure designs are cost-effective, designed for manufacture, and test.
  • Ensure products comply with current legal and regulatory requirements, minimizing environmental impact.
  • Assume ownership of assigned projects from conception to completion and provide ongoing support.
  • Adhere to the Company's ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental, and Health and Safety management systems, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Knowledge of up-to-date components, technology, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of current regulations and procedures and their impact on design.
  • Experience with UC design, particularly with analogue control/systems, is desirable.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and customers.
  • Understanding of PCB layout and mechanical packaging constraints.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet demanding time-scales.
  • Ability to follow formal design procedures and methodologies in accordance with ISO 9001:2000.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CADSTAR is desirable.
