Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement safe operational procedures that take into account all relevant hazards and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Perform regular site inspections to monitor the effectiveness of our health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on health and safety issues and risks.
  • Keep accurate records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
  • Record incidents and accidents and provide statistics to management.
  • Stay up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and industry developments.
  • Produce management reports, newsletters, and bulletins to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Ensure equipment is installed and used safely.
  • Manage the safe disposal of hazardous substances, such as asbestos.
  • Provide expert advice on specialist areas, including fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
Requirements:
  • Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a master's, NVQ, BSC, or NEBOSH national diploma.
  • COSHH training.
  • Experience in formulating, implementing, and revising health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Experience with ISO and TISAX certification requirements is advantageous.
