The Opportunity

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Services Engineer to join their dynamic team working on the largest nuclear and defence project in the UK.

Contract: Inside IR35

Location: Remote - occasional travel to site

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist and support the Design Manager in delivering project scope.
  2. Undertake mechanical engineering activities to required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
  3. Responsible for technical aspects of mechanical engineering work packages from identification to handover.
  4. Deliver technical aspects of one or more design packages as directed by the Principal Mechanical Engineer.
  5. Ensure design documentation covers scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
  6. Plan for effective project implementation.
  7. Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements, operate, and deliver through compliance with teams Business Management System and Technical Manual.
  8. Support ensuring that processes and activities being undertaken are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
  9. Support ensuring that staff and contractors are familiar with hazards and risks associated with work undertaken by the delegated engineering team through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment.
Requirements
  1. Knowledge of design of mechanical and nuclear process systems e.g. fresh water, demineralised water etc.
  2. Knowledge of design of industrial gas systems e.g. low- and high-pressure air, welding gases etc.
  3. Knowledge of design of mechanical building services.
  4. Knowledge of mechanical handling equipment.
  5. Aware of seismic analysis for mechanical process equipment.
  6. Aware of substantiation of process equipment for justification of Nuclear Safety Functions.
  7. Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post, and project requirements.
  8. Sound understanding of Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety, and Quality requirements, and ability to manage tasks in accordance with these procedures.
  9. Working knowledge of relevant engineering computer applications.
