Job Description

Buckden Partners is seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting and analysis, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality financial insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with financial control and other key areas to ensure a smooth month-end close, enabling clear and accurate reporting for the business.
  • Play a pivotal role in business forecasting, budget creation, and performance analysis, contributing to informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Own the production of monthly management accounting packs, providing timely and accurate financial information to stakeholders.
  • Establish strong relationships across the business and interpret and communicate financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Be at the forefront of problem-solving and strategic developments, advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions, and offering professional judgment on financial matters.
  • Work in partnership with senior stakeholders to drive sustainable cost efficiencies for the business and ensure any investment is optimized.
  • Develop best-in-class management information, insights, and reporting, and improve business/financial modeling to support short-term and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and make improvements where needed.
  • Support the business with both internal and external data requests, such as shareholder and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
  • Finance professional with recognized accountancy qualifications and post-qualification experience in a relevant role.
  • Strong leadership and storytelling skills, with a deep understanding of financial concepts, including financial statements, ratios, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software.
  • Significant experience in managing ambiguity in a financial environment, with strong evaluation and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent technical financial and accounting knowledge and application of that knowledge in a complex and commercial environment.
  • Experience of mortgage or consumer credit business, ideally financed through capital markets (warehouse and RMBS facilities).
  • Flexible with an ability to think, act, and impact at both the strategic level and tactical level.
  • Experience with Anaplan and Fusion General Ledger an advantage.
