ASD Tutor Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a one-to-one setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to children with ASD, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Work with the child to identify and achieve their learning goals, and provide regular feedback and progress updates.
- Collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to the child's education.
- Desirable: Experience working with children with challenging behaviour and a willingness to develop and implement strategies to support this.
Requirements:
- Relevant SEN experience, either as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of children with ASD.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and other professionals.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the children and the role.
