About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Visitor Experience Officer to join our team at Newark Park. As a key member of our property leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering exceptional visitor experiences that showcase the unique history and atmosphere of our historic house, garden, and estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Property Operations Manager to shape every aspect of the visitor experience, ensuring it is informed by our unique history and atmosphere.
  • Plan and deliver a programme of events that cater to regular visitors, locals, and new audiences, with a focus on creating engaging and inspiring experiences.
  • Lead on marketing, volunteering, interpretation, and signage, ensuring high standards of presentation and service throughout the site.
  • Collaborate with the house, garden, and estate teams to understand our spirit of place and ensure a cohesive visitor experience.
  • Supervise volunteers and line manage the Visitor Experience Officer, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of exceptional visitor experiences.
Requirements
  • Experience of delivering inspirational engagement activities to varied audiences.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality interpretation or marketing material, with a keen eye for visual design and an understanding of its application in the heritage sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of an audience-led approach and the ability to evaluate and use feedback to further develop an offer or experience.
  • Experience working to multiple deadlines and managing your own workload, with a strong focus on organisation and planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Empathy with the aims of the National Trust and a commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web, and social media platforms, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Familiarity with health and safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for visitors and staff.
