We are recruiting an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team at Mtrec Technical in Teesside. The successful candidate will play a key role in operating large CNC machines to produce high-quality components.

About the Job:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC technology and its applications, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate large CNC vertical or horizontal borers to produce complex components, ensuring accurate dimensions and surface finishes.
  • Work closely with the production support team to plan and execute machining tasks, meeting customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspection of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • A time-served machine shop apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a similar field.
  • Familiarity with vertical borers or horizontal borers, with manual experience accepted as a starting point.
  • Able to set up one-off jobs and work efficiently with components exceeding 1m in size.
  • Precision measurement skills using manual equipment for dimensions and surface finish.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings effectively.
  • Programming skills with Siemens, Fanuc, or Heidenhain are desirable but not essential.
