Multidisciplinary Specialist in Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Multidisciplinary Specialist in Neurodevelopmental Disorders to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Neurodisability Team, you will be responsible for delivering specialist level services to children and young people with complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a specialist speech and language therapy service to a high level of expertise consisting of assessment, differential diagnosis, interpretation, management, and outcomes to children and adolescents with communication difficulties associated with complex neurological conditions.
- To work as an independent practitioner accessing the Department's supervision system, and seeking and maintaining peer support from other specialist practitioners in line with clinical governance and professional guidelines.
- To contribute to the development, service, and team plans, policies, and care protocol, relating to the clinical caseload in particular, in consultation with the Team Leader and multidisciplinary teams, using specialist knowledge.
- To support the SLT and MDT clinical teams in teaching and training in the specialist subjects - AAC, Developmental Communication, and Epilepsy.
Requirements
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent.
- Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
- Health Professions Council license to practice.
- Short courses in Specialist Area (AAC, Autism, Language disorder).
