We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Dispensary Team Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our medicines management dispensary services in the North West. This is a critical role that requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and technical skills.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of dedicated pharmacy staff, ensuring the timely and effective supply of dispensed medication to patients. They will work closely with the Pharmacy Technician Team Manager to develop strategies for achieving quality and activity targets. The ideal candidate will have experience in pharmaceutical services, medicines management, and leadership, with a strong understanding of current legislation and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the dispensary service, ensuring receipt, dispensing, checking, and delivery of medicines meet the needs of the trust in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Supervise and develop the skills of pharmacy staff, including students, support workers, and other dispensary-based staff, to ensure they provide a high-quality patient service.
- Collaborate with the education and training team to provide competency-based training and development programs for pharmacy staff.
- Act as a supervisor to relevant staff during induction/training periods and ensure they receive comprehensive guidance and support.
Requirements
- BTEC level 3 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- BTEC Level 4 in dispensing accuracy checking or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- NVQ A1 workplace assessor (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience in management, leadership, and staff supervision within a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of medicines management services, pharmaceutical law, and clinical governance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
