Job Description

HireArt is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Hardware Documentation Annotator. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously annotating hardware documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and completeness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Annotate hardware documentation, including datasheets, technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams, with precise and relevant information.
  • Verify the accuracy of annotations against the source documents and ensure adherence to established standards and guidelines.
  • Work closely with technical writers, engineers, and other team members to clarify ambiguities, resolve discrepancies, and improve documentation quality.
  • Conduct research and analysis to understand complex hardware concepts and translate them into clear and concise annotations.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing documentation clarity, organization, and usability, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining a repository of annotated hardware documentation, ensuring it remains up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide constructive feedback on documentation processes, tools, and templates to streamline annotation workflows and improve efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Proven experience in technical documentation annotation, preferably in the hardware, camera, or semiconductor industry
  • Strong understanding of hardware components, architectures, and systems
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications, schematics, and diagrams
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while working with complex technical information
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience as a technical author, ideally for hardware, electrical, manufacturing, or similar
  • Familiarity with documentation tools and software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, XML editors)

This is a contract position staffed via HireArt. It is remote and available to candidates based in the United Kingdom (BST/GMT timezone).
