Consultant Histopathologist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Histopathology Consultant to join our team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a key member of our Histopathology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic services and contributing to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist surgical dissection and reporting services
• Participate in a monthly rota of specialist surgical dissection and reporting
• Provide cover for frozen section reporting on a rotational basis
• Contribute to the development of our department and provide expert advice on diagnostic pathology

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Histopathology Consultant who is passionate about delivering high-quality diagnostic services. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
• Experience in diagnostic pathology, sufficient to practise as an independent consultant
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to plan strategic objectives for the directorate, Trust or network group
• Good communication skills, written and oral
