Main Responsibilities:
  1. Assess patients' needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care.
  2. Organize the delivery of nursing care, deploying staff effectively.
  3. Communicate changes to patient information and treatment plans to team members.
  4. Adhere to NMC standards of record keeping.
  5. Contribute to setting, monitoring, and maintaining standards of care.
  6. Participate in nursing audit and service improvement activities.
  7. Manage risk and maintain patient safety.
  8. Supervise nursing support staff and delegate tasks appropriately.
  9. Contribute to day-to-day management of the Directorate.
  10. Participate in education and training of junior staff.
  11. Involve patients/carers in planning and delivery of care.
  12. Participate in clinical supervision.
  13. Resolve conflict and defuse situations as needed.
Requirements:
  • NMC registration.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
  • Prior experience in palliative care and audits.
