Job Title: Head of Science

Job Summary:

Dunbar Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Science teacher to lead our Science department. As a Head of Science, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a challenging and inclusive Science curriculum for students aged 11-18.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and Manage the Science Department: Ensure high standards of teaching and learning, and provide support and professional development to Science staff.
  2. Develop and Implement the Science Curriculum: Create a challenging and inclusive Science curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  3. Monitor and Evaluate Student Progress: Focus on raising attainment and ensuring students achieve their full potential.
  4. Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team: Work together to develop and implement whole-school strategies that support student success.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A recognized teaching qualification is essential for this role.
  2. Experience Teaching Science: A proven track record of teaching Science to students aged 11-18 is required.
  3. Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership and management skills are necessary to lead and manage the Science department.
  4. Previous Experience as a Head of Science: Previous experience as a Head of Science is beneficial, but not essential.
  5. Experience Working in a SEN School: Experience working in a SEN school is desirable and will enhance the candidate's application.
