Job Title: Tax Assistant Manager/Manager

TPF Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Tax Assistant Manager/Manager to join their Private Client Tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who thrives in a supportive environment where personal and professional development is highly encouraged.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to a diverse portfolio of clients. They will be responsible for providing tax compliance and advisory services, working with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and a variety of personal tax clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and trusts.
  • Prepare and review personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax legislation.
  • Provide proactive tax planning advice on income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and other personal tax matters.
  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries and build long-term relationships.
  • Support partners in delivering bespoke tax advice to clients on complex issues.
  • Mentor and oversee junior members of the team, ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor deadlines and manage workflows to ensure all work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to clients and colleagues.
  • Assist with HMRC enquiries and tax investigations as required.
  • Contribute to business development activities, helping to attract new clients and grow the firm's tax practice.
Requirements:
  • CTA/ATT qualified (or equivalent), with significant experience in a private client tax role.
  • Proven experience managing a personal tax portfolio, ideally within a practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, particularly in relation to personal tax, inheritance tax, and capital gains tax.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly to clients.
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff would be beneficial.
  • A proactive approach to identifying tax planning opportunities and providing added value to clients.
  • A team player with a strong work ethic and a desire to contribute to the firm's success.
