Job Title: Production Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join our team at McLaren Motorsport & Automotive. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 per annum

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and experience in equipment maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns on critical production equipment and fault find effectively.
  • Carry out repair and preventative maintenance work on all production equipment.
  • Apply practical problem-solving to find continuous improvements on equipment issues and maintenance aspects.
  • Effective supervision of subcontractor activities as required.
  • Compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy requirements within the area of responsibility.
  • Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
  • Support with planned maintenance activities during production shutdown periods.
  • Create and update maintenance and equipment procedures.
  • Maintain and organize all asset documentation.

Requirements:

  • The ability to problem-solve and a good attitude/flexibility to work on many different aspects within the McLaren Production Centre from Body assembly, Paint, and General Assembly.
  • The ability to log data in terms of mean time to repair/KPI.
  • Electrical/Mechanical recognized engineering skills – will be subject to practical test i.e., NVQ Diploma / BTEC / HND / Apprenticeship.
  • Experience of fault finding and maintenance activity on PC, PLC, and electromechanically controlled production equipment, and the ability to use technical instruments when required.
  • Experience in electrical cable repairs with the ability to solder; welding experience would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing and process equipment is required.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, including electrical, mechanical, and when required, 3D drawings of bespoke solutions and BOMs.
