Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MacOS Accessibility Solutions Specialist to join our team at PCR Digital | B Corp™.

The role is a quarterly rolling contract for up to 2 years, with an estimated daily rate of £650 (Inside IR35). This will be a varied position where you'll work with global teams on new features and solutions, ensuring the best outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit existing solutions to identify areas for improvement and implement accessibility fixes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accessibility considerations are integrated from the outset.
  • Liaise and coordinate with various functions, including project management, development, and quality assurance.
  • Represent the team positively and effectively, advocating for accessible design principles and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • First-hand experience in testing with assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, Switch Control, Zoom, Closed Captions, and Audio Descriptions, Screen Magnifiers, Adaptive Keyboards etc.
  • An expert understanding of Web Accessibility, Best Practices, and Accessibility APIs specific for MacOS Applications.
  • MacOS programming experience, specifically with Objective-C & Swift.
  • Excellent experience with AppKit, Xcode IDE, and Cocoa frameworks.
  • An understanding of accessibility APIs such as UIAccessibilityPostNotification.
  • Proficiency in using AppleScript and Automator workflows to simplify complex tasks.
  • A deep understanding of how people with disabilities use iOS and macOS.
  • Familiarity with accessibility features on mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
