Job Description

This part-time teaching position involves delivering tutorials to students enrolled in the Futures in STEM programme. The role requires an approachable manner, effective communication skills, and experience in teaching/tutoring A-level Chemistry.

Tutors will receive training on how to use virtual learning environments, including Zoom and Teams, to facilitate online sessions. The successful candidate will also need to undergo an enhanced DBS check and adhere to Durham University's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver tutorials to students, adhering to the structured study programme and materials provided by the central programme team.
  2. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide a supportive learning environment.
  3. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of chemistry subject matter.
