Senior Ecologist

Join our team at Carrington West, a dynamic and growing private planning consultancy based in the UK, specializing in renewable energy projects. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to play a key role in supporting the delivery of renewable energy projects from conception through to completion.

The Role:

As a Senior Ecologist, you will conduct ecological assessments, provide advice on mitigation and enhancement, and work closely with planners, engineers, and other environmental specialists to ensure that biodiversity is at the heart of project planning. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and ecological assessments.
  2. Providing ecological input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  3. Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  4. Supporting in obtaining relevant environmental permits and licenses.
  5. Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of renewable projects.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. Experience in undertaking ecological surveys and assessments.
  3. Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  4. A passion for sustainability and renewable energy.
  5. A full UK driving license.
