Job Title: Decarbonisation Project Specialist

LJB & Co is seeking a highly skilled Decarbonisation Project Specialist to join our team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have experience in quantity surveying within construction, focusing on Decarbonisation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will manage all financial and contractual aspects of Decarbonisation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and to the highest standards.
  • They will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, labour costs, materials, and provide accurate forecasts and financial projections for project planning and decision-making.
  • The Decarbonisation Project Specialist will review and manage contracts, subcontracts, negotiate variations and claims, and resolve disputes that arise during project execution.
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs, tracking expenditures, and ensuring alignment with the approved budget are key responsibilities.
  • Regular financial reports, including cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final account statements, will be prepared to analyse financial performance.
  • Assisting in the procurement process by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective and compliant activities.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within construction, focusing on Decarbonisation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, contract management, cost control methods, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, interpreting complex financial data and providing actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to manage client and stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial and contractual matters.
  • Able to travel in Ireland, UK, and other EU countries when required.
  • Clean UK Driving License.
