Academic Mentor Role

Support Students in Science

EdEx is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Academic Mentor to join their team at an Outstanding Barnet secondary school. As an Academic Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students within the Science department, helping them to achieve academic success and develop a love for the subject.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for science and a desire to inspire students to reach their full potential. You will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted interventions and support students' development academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Run small, targeted interventions in groups and 1:1 for students who are struggling academically.
  2. Run booster sessions for students inside and outside of the classroom across science-related subjects.
  3. Support class teachers across different subjects and support students' development academically.

Person Specification:

  1. Must have a 1st Class or 2:1 Degree from a reputable University.
  2. Aspiring Primary or Secondary Teacher.
  3. Must be willing to go above and beyond daily for the pupils.
  4. Confidence is key throughout these roles/School.
  5. Must be a team player.
