Job Description

As a Primary School Support Specialist, you will be working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to individual students or small groups. This will involve assisting with classroom activities, adapting resources and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, and contributing to a thriving school environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with varying abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN), to ensure they receive the assistance they need to succeed.
  • Work closely with teachers to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, adapting resources and strategies to meet the needs of all students.
  • Contribute to lesson planning and assessment by offering feedback on student progress and learning outcomes.
  • Assist with the preparation of educational materials, classroom displays, and other resources as needed.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and promote positive interactions among students.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a primary school setting. You will also need to have a strong understanding of primary education and child development principles, as well as experience working with children who have additional needs. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential, as well as patience, adaptability, and a positive approach to learning.



Salary

The salary for this role is £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience, and includes a competitive benefits package.
